I’ve gotten behind on posting news, but I’ll try to get back in the habit as I have time. Today I saw an article on the Nissan Rogue having semi-autonomous features soon. It appears it will have adaptive cruise control with an advanced lane keep assist so you won’t need to steer. No lane changing for a few years though. I’m curious how well these sorts of systems work when there are sharper turns in the highway. I know my Subaru’s simple lane keep assist won’t work for that, so hopefully the Nissan technology will be far more advanced.
Here’s Nissan’s announcement about it. It looks to me to be some form of Lane keep assist plus adaptive cruise control, so we’ll have to wait and see how good the lane keep assist works. It is called the ProPilot Assist and appears it will be available on the 2018 Nissan Rogue, costing around 35k.
