Infiniti Self Driving Car – Active Lane Control Review

I recently received my 2016 Subaru which has adpative cruise control and lane keep assist, some of the basic tools that a self driving car can be built upon. While researching feedback on lane keep assist systems, I kept coming across the following video:

The video is pretty impressive, but also the driver is crazy and should be arrested. Basically, the lane keep assist / active lane control feature on the Infiniti Q50 does not require you to keep your hands on the wheel. Additionally, rather than a “lane keep assist” which will steer you back into the lane if you start to drive, the Infiniti has “active lane control” which is designed to try to keep you in the center of the lane. As a result, the car is able to keep itself centered in the lane for extended periods of time with absolutely no driver input. As in the case of the video, though, it also leads some stupid people to going a step farther and actually leaving the driver’s seat entirely.

This thread will include more detailed reviews and comments on the Infiniti self driving and safety features currently available. I hope to have time to add more details soon.
