Bicyclist felt safer dealing with a self-driving car

  • by

An interesting story posted to a bicycle forum about someone who saw a self driving Google Lexus at a four way stop. Because the bicyclist moved slightly as the Google car moved, the Google car immediately stopped. Over 2 minutes they both hardly moved. Obviously it is much better for these cars to be on the cautious side, but these types of issues might be difficult to program a resolution for. The bicyclist wrote in the forum, “I felt safer dealing with a self-driving car than a human-operated one.”

I can’t wait until we have more automated cars to reduce the stress and dangers of driving.
